Over 20 speakers have confirmed their attendance to speak at the 2024 Energy & Sustainability Summit, including senior speakers from Expo City Dubai and Masdar City, the Big Project Middle East editorial team have confirmed.
Dr. Yianni Spanos, Vice President – Sustainability and Expo City Dubai and Chris Wan, Associate Director of Sustainability and CSR at Masdar City will be participating at the event. Dr. Yianni will be participating on the ‘Post COP28 Net Zero Action’ panel discussion, while Wan will present the second keynote address on how cities can achieve Net Zero.
The Energy & Sustainability Summit is scheduled to take place at the Habtoor Grand Resort in JBR, Dubai on 7 March. Attendance to the event is complementary but mandatory via registration here – spaces are extremely limited. The event will be the third edition of the event, which was first launched by Big Project Middle East in 2022.
The event’s agenda will focus on several key themes including: how construction and energy stakeholders can make a tangible difference in the journey towards Net Zero post COP28; sustainably sourcing and responsibly disposing of end-of-life assets and materials; transitioning to sustainable, locally sourced materials that can turn buildings and cities into carbon sinks, the rise of waste-to-energy facilities, and looking beyond solar to decarbonise the MENA region’s energy sector. The event will also shine a light on the challenges of greenwashing.
Speakers include members from government organisations, industry bodies, developers & operators, construction and engineering stakeholders, energy specialists and manufacturers.
