PNN 60013
Work Detail It is presented as the first in the country that has a comprehensive energy management system based on renewables. The first comprehensive energy solution for energy self-sufficiency has come into operation at the Shell service station in San Francisco de Mostazal, in the commune of Mostazal, Chilean region of OHiggins, according to Enex, Shells licensee in Chile, which developed the project together with Solarity and Colbún Soluciones by Efizity. Described as “the first of its kind in Chile and Latin America”, it is stated in a statement that the service station has a photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the upa! convenience store, with the capacity to generate around 155,000 kWh annually, “which is equivalent to 14% of the annual consumption of the facilities,” it is stated. It is added that the system allows reducing power peaks by up to 50 kW, intelligent control of the battery, air conditioning equipment and electric vehicle chargers, "that is, it reduces power consumption when necessary, in order to reduce the use of electricity”, he assures. The information adds that the Shell station in San Francisco de Mostazal “has a geothermal air conditioning system, which circulates air through pipes buried underground to reduce energy use and its impact; It has LED lighting, solar thermal panels to temper the water in the showers and kitchen; and reuses gray water in drip irrigation of gardens.” Enex announces that this year it plans to install photovoltaic plants in 6 new Shell service stations, "with the aim of reaching a total of 14 locations with this technology, prioritizing those that have charging points for electric cars and that have a high solar generation factor.” Currently, Enex claims to have an operational network of 43 charging points for electric vehicles, a plan that includes "various initiatives associated with electromobility, renewable energy generation, renewable energy supply contracts and energy efficiency, among others."
