Work Detail Sunwinds patented Vertisolar solution includes two 352W all-black PERC solar modules, a microinverter, a connection system and a monitoring device. The package includes an anti-theft system that also protects the wiring and the microinverter. The French specialist in isolated systems Sunwind has developed a kit for installing vertical photovoltaic systems on fences. The patented Vertisolar solution includes two 352W full-black PERC solar modules with 22% efficiency. It also includes a microconverter, a 220V AC mains connection system and a monitoring device. The kit weighs 7 kg and includes an anti-theft system that fixes the solar modules to the fence, with the solar panels on one side and an aluminum structure on the other. The metal plate on the back also protects the wiring part and the microconverter. Xavier Duport, general director of Sunwind, explained to pv magazine France that the panel has been developed with the help of the National Institute of Solar Energy (INES), a division of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Metsolar, based in Lithuania, was responsible for the encapsulation of the cells. Sunwind turned to its parent company, French steelmaker Forlam, for the assembly system. The Vertisolar system was initially developed for steel line barriers in metal fences on residential, collective and industrial sites owned by Clotex, another Forlam subsidiary. The photovoltaic kit, intended for individuals and companies, will be sold from March 2024 directly on the Sunwind website, for an unspecified price. The startup is also in talks with Clotex to integrate the Vertisolar solution into its product line.
