Unahco’s Bocaue Plant has successfully made the switch to run on renewable energy with Buskowitz Energy.
Buskowitz Energy, one of the leading players in the rooftop solar industry in the country, was commissioned by UNAHCO to install 1,900 tier one solar panels on its Bocaue Plant. This will enable UNAHCO, Inc. — the animal nutrition and healthcare subsidiary of United Laboratories, Inc. — to transition its operations in Bocaue, Bulacan to run on renewable energy with a 1,026 kilowatt-peak (kWp) system.
Buskowitz Energy’s Vice President for Engineering Engr. Amando Lanuza, shared, “In our projects, we assure you of the best quality in design, implementation, after-sales, and maintenance. We install, we maintain, and we will always be there every step of the way in our client’s solar journey.”
With an expected annual average energy production of 1,319,292 kilowatt-hours, the solar photovoltaic (PV) system is set to allow UNAHCO to potentially save up to PhP 127 million of energy imported from the grid during its lifetime. Which is equivalent to sequestering carbon generated by consuming almost 10 million gallons of gasoline, preventing 25 million coals from being used, and offsetting 23 thousand metric tons of carbon emissions.
During the ceremonial ribbon cutting event, which was held at the Bocaue Plant last December 06, 2023, President and COO Ricardo Alba said, “Bocaue Plant is the first among the company-owned plants to be installed with solar power. But we will do it step by step depending on the capacity needed. I’m very happy and very proud of this partnership. I would like to thank the management of Buskowitz Energy for this project. As we grow bigger, our life has become more complex, but at the end of the day it’s about mutual understanding. We take care of our partners and trust our employees, and we welcome Buskowitz as a new partner for our renewable energy initiatives.”
UNAHCO joins Buskowitz’s belt of more than 300 rooftop solar projects around the country. To-date, Buskowitz has installed and provided solar power for multinational companies as well as other local industry giants.
