Work Detail The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has announced that three firms have submitted bids for the civil construction work of Mumbai Metro’s Line-12 (Orange Line) which will connect Kalyan – Dombivali – Amandoot (Taloja) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The project has received bids from Gawar Constructions, J Kumar Infraprojects, and Welspun Enterprises. Metro Line 12, spanning 20 km between Kalyan and Taloja, is a fully elevated corridor with 19 stations. These stations include Kalyan, APMC Kalyan, Ganesh Nagar, Pisavali Gaon, Golavali, Dombivali MIDC, Sagaon, Sonarpada, Manpada, Hedutane, Kolegaon, Nilje Gaon, Vadavali, Bale, Vaklan, Turbhe, Pisarve Depot, Pisarve, and Amandoot (Taloja). In line with the plan to create an interconnected network, the Kalyan Taloja Metro Line 12 will have interchange stations with Metro Line 5 at APMC Kalyan and with Navi Mumbai Metro Line 01 at Taloja. Metro Line-5, with a cost of INR 84.16 billion (USD 1 billion), spans 24.9 km, linking Thane to Kalyan through Bhiwandi and consisting of a 15-station elevated corridor. Currently under construction, it is expected to begin commercial operations by 2025. The Metro 12 project, with a total cost of INR 55 billion (USD 661 million), is funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the anticipated completion date is October 2025. Once completed, Metro Line 12 will establish direct connectivity between Kalyan-Dombivali, Thane, Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai.
