Sterlite Power, a leading player in the energy sector, has maintained its robust performance with new orders worth approximately INR 1,400 crores for its Global Products and Services (GPS) business in the third quarter of FY’24. This achievement brings the cumulative order win for the first nine months of FY24 to a formidable INR 4,700 crores. The orders encompass high-performance power conductors, optical ground wire (OPGW), and power cables from both domestic and export markets. Additionally, the company has received orders for specialized EPC services and turnkey EPC for EHV-HV Cables in the domestic market.
As a significant contributor to grid decarbonization, Sterlite Power has utilized its expertise in conductors to advance clean energy solutions. The increasing demand for conductors, domestically and internationally, underscores the commitment of stakeholders towards achieving net-zero targets and transitioning to sustainable energy. During Q3, Sterlite Power secured orders to supply conductors and OPGW for prestigious renewable energy evacuation projects, including notable projects like Power Grid Corporation of India limited 765 kV D/c BHADLA III – SIKAR II D/C Line and 400 kV D/c Part A1 & A3, Phase III (20 GW) project from a private client in Rajasthan. Furthermore, the company is strengthening its global presence with large strategic orders from Latin America and Africa to bolster transmission networks.
The Power Cable segment remains optimistic, driven by essential infrastructure projects such as renewable power generation, T&D infrastructure expansion, and metro railways. Sterlite Power’s new orders for metro, data center, and power projects reflect the escalating demand for cables in various infrastructure developments. The company will supply 110kV cables to Mumbai Metro, 220kV cables to a critical renewable project in Rajasthan, and cables for energy-intensive data centers in Pune, ensuring uninterrupted power supply for these vital services. Moreover, Sterlite Power has secured export orders in the subcontinent and bagged EHV cable orders in the domestic market.
Manish Agarwal, CEO of Sterlite Power’s Global Products & Services business, expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum in supply orders for conductors, OPGW, and power cables. He emphasized that the order wins signify the increasing demand for Sterlite Power’s product offerings in both Indian and export markets. With a heightened focus on decarbonization, Sterlite Power’s range of high-performance conductors, HV and EHV cables, and specialized EPC services for cable transmission continue to play a significant role in the energy transition journey. |
