Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) CEO, Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali, recently hosted Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), in a meeting aimed at bolstering collaboration and launching initiatives to reduce energy consumption costs in Ajman’s industrial sector. In a landmark ceremony at the Manial Palace, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Supreme Council for Antiquities (SCA), the Industrial Modernization Center, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Egypt, unveiled solar power stations at five Egyptian world heritage sites and museums. These stations, accomplished under the Egypt PV project, mark a significant stride toward sustainable energy practices and environmental conservation. Strategically positioned at the Giza Plateau’s Visitor Center, Manial Palace in Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh Museum, and two Museums in Alexandria (The National and the Royal Jewelry Museums), the five solar power stations boast a total capacity of 325 kW of photovoltaic systems, generating 520 MW.hr/year.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, H. E. Mohsen Bin Hamad Al Hadrami, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swiss Federal Office of Energy to enhance cooperation in sustainable and renewable energy and its technologies. The MoU focuses on green hydrogen projects, covering production, processing, storage, and consumption. It also involves the exchange of knowledge on laws, regulations, and policies related to sustainable and renewable energy, as well as integrating energy transformation value chains, trade rules, and certificates. The agreement aims to foster collaboration between Oman and Switzerland in various aspects of sustainable and renewable energy, including research and development, energy efficiency, and decarbonization strategies.
