Work Detail |
The Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA), the primary renewable agency in the state, aims to boost the adoption of solar boats on Chilika Lake and has recently issued a tender to facilitate this initiative.
The tender is seeking solar developers to oversee the design, engineering, and retrofitting of 28 tourist boats and 100 fishing boats currently powered by diesel and petrol.
The last date to submit bids is February 15, 2024, and the EOI validity period is 180 days from the final bid submission date.
OREDA intends to convert these boats into solar-powered vessels through the retrofitting process, with a requirement for solar developers to provide two years of maintenance.
The primary objective is to gain insights into the technical, operational, and maintenance aspects involved in transforming conventional fossil fuel-powered boats into electric or solar boats through a collaborative approach.
The tender also invites participants for tasks such as designing, engineering, installing, testing, and commissioning retrofitting boats with electric propulsion systems in Chilika.
In addition to design specifications for retrofitting an electric propulsion system powered by solar energy and charging infrastructure to achieve the necessary operating speed and duration.
The bidder must also submit its annual turnover for the last five (5) financial years.
The winning bidder is expected to provide the infrastructure needed to charge boats and set up the onshore charging station. Alongside that, the winning bidder will be responsible for installing all equipment in accordance with the plan. |
