Procurement News Notice

PNN 58080
Work Detail The company Energía Argentina SA (ENARSA) modified the date for submitting offers and the act of opening envelopes corresponding to the tender for the acquisition of pipes for the Presidente Néstor Kirchner trunk gas pipeline in its Stage 2, when it will extend from the Buenos Aires city from Salliqueló to San Jerónimo, in the south of Santa Fe, transporting the natural gas produced in Vaca Muerta, Neuquén. The new date now planned by ENARSA is April 22 until 11 a.m., at the companys headquarters, in CABA. The Circular modifying the date (which had been set for this month) specifies that interested bidders must have the financing required for the manufacture and provision of these pipes. The GPNK extends in its first stage for 573 kilometers, and the complete work will take it to 1,050 kilometers in length, then crossing Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa, Buenos Aires and Santa Fe, with 90 special crossings and 6 compressor plants. In turn, with the work of the Mercedes-Cardales Gasduct they specify the interconnection of the existing trunk transportation systems operated by TGN and TGS. For the provision of the pipes, Tenaris is noted considering that Techint could count on financing from the BNDES of Brazil for about 400 million dollars as a result of its association with Usiminas in that country. In the construction of the GPNK Stage I, Techint imported the sheet metal from its Brazilian plant and manufactured the pipes at its SIAT plant in Valentín Alsina. But it will also be necessary to see how the regular relations between the governments of both countries will affect this operation. On the other hand, ENARSAs opinions were known regarding the best offers made by the UTE Techint-Sacde, to carry out the reversal works of the Northern Gas Pipeline, in Lines 2 and 3 of the project. Meanwhile, decisions are awaited regarding a new tender for the pipeline laying works and the assembly of four compressor plants that make up Line 1 of the project whose completion will allow the supply of Vaca Muerta gas to the northwest provinces of the country. The original deadlines set for these works by the previous government (having it ready for the arrival of next winter) will no longer be able to be met. It includes the laying of pipelines, construction of loops, installation of 4 compressor plants. Partial financing of 540 million dollars had been arranged with the CAF, out of a total cost estimated at 710 million dollars. The new national government has expressed its willingness to move forward with this essential project, since the supply of Bolivian natural gas to that region will be affected in the coming months due to the decline in the neighboring countrys gas reserves. The reversal of the pipelines will also allow gas from Argentina to reach Bolivia, and from there to Brazil using the existing gas pipeline.
