Within the current Buenos Aires situation, the Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, announced the start of the works that will transform the Parque Avellaneda toll station into the Perito Moreno Highway. This revolutionary project seeks to modernize the charging system, benefiting the more than 60,000 daily users who travel this important connection route with the western municipalities of the Buenos Aires suburbs. The main objective of the initiative, headed by Macri, is to install an automatic patent reading portal and eliminate barriers and manual toll booths at the toll station. This significant change will not only improve the experience for drivers, but will also have a positive impact on road safety and traffic efficiency.

In turn, during the announcement, Macri highlighted that the implementation of this intelligent system does not lead to the loss of jobs, but, on the contrary, the state company AUSA has retrained 352 workers, assigning them new, more qualified roles and generating greater value in the operation. «Today is an important day, almost metaphorical, because we continue to raise barriers. And that is a complete definition of the role that the State has to play for us. This means more technology to make peoples lives easier," said the Head of Government.
Telepase System
With the introduction of the Telepase system, drivers will experience a considerable improvement in their travel times. The elimination of toll lines and automatic toll collection will provide a simpler and more comfortable driving experience. Furthermore, this change represents a significant step in terms of road safety, since the reduction of booths and barriers will reduce congestion during peak hours, improving traffic flow and reducing the risks of accidents.
The importance of smart highways
Accompanied by the Minister of Infrastructure, Pablo Bereciartua, and the head of Urban Highways (AUSA), Carlos Frugoni, Macri toured the toll station, speaking with the technical team and greeting the workers present. Bereciartua highlighted the importance of smart highways in the quality of life of drivers and asserted that these works make the City a more modern and efficient place.
Intervention
Within the framework of the intervention, Telepase booths will be eliminated in the center lanes of the highway, which have a direction of traffic towards the province of Buenos Aires, and will be replaced by an automatic reading portal. This change will allow the toll to operate with a mixed scheme, with booths and electronic gate in the direction of the province, and access roads with Telepase and traditional booths in the lanes towards the center. Likewise, Carlos Frugoni explained that the coexistence of tolls without barriers and booths in the direction towards the province is a transition to accustom users to this new way of traveling on highways without the need to stop. On the other hand, it is important to keep in mind that the completion of the works is scheduled for next May, and during this period, the toll will remain operational on both sides of traffic. |
