According to the Italian manufacturer, the heat pump has a seasonal coefficient of performance of 3.80 to 4.80. The new product can operate between -15 ºC and 52 ºC in cooling mode and between -20 ºC and 30 ºC in heating mode.
Italian heat pump manufacturer Clivet has introduced a compact outdoor heat pump for residential applications.
Called MSAN8-Y Mini VRF, the new product uses DC inverter technology for both the compressor and fan motor and a plate heat exchanger as a secondary intercooler to increase refrigerant subcooling. “The use of a plate heat exchanger as a secondary intercooler can increase refrigerant subcooling by up to 15ºC, thus improving heat exchange and energy efficiency,” the manufacturer states in a statement.
The new series has a power of 7.2 kW to 15.5 kW. It has dimensions of 1,038 mm x 864 mm x 523 mm and a weight that ranges between 80 kg and 109 kg, depending on the capacity.
The manufacturer claims that power consumption in standby mode is reduced to just 3.5 W and claims that its seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) ranges between 3.80 and 4.80. It can reportedly operate from -15ºC to 52ºC in cooling mode and from -20ºC to 30ºC in heating mode.
The heat pump has an acoustic power level of 70 dB(A) to 74 dB(A) and an air flow rate of up to 5,200 m3/h. Cooling printed circuit board (PCB) technology is used to cool the electrical control box, which supposedly lowers the average temperature of the electrical control components by about 8°C, according to the manufacturer.
“The Mini VRF MSAN8-Y replaces equivalent sizes of the current Mini VRF MSAN-XMi series, represents the first step in the introduction of the new V8 platform and features significant technological improvements and new functionalities,” the company states. “Designed with a single single-fan chassis for all sizes, the new series also offers notable advantages throughout the entire life cycle, from installation to maintenance and use. Other optional safety devices, such as the R32 refrigerant leak sensor and shut-off valve, complete the offer.”
Clivet is based in Feltre, in the northern Italian province of Belluno. It also manufactures boilers, chillers and air handling units. |
