Work Detail This was stated by the director of Public Works, Eng. Sergio Ojeda when referring to the works in progress. The director of Public Works of the Municipality of Malargüe, Eng. Sergio Ojeda, shared information about the status of municipal works and the efforts made to improve the organization and execution of the projects. According to Sergio Ojeda, there are currently “several works in progress and others that are going to be stopped.” He explained that in the previous administration, works were carried out by administration, which meant using municipal personnel to carry out the projects. This modality, although it has its advantages, also presents challenges in terms of organization and assignment of tasks. In this sense, he highlighted the importance of having done it by bidding, since this would have provided greater control over the works and would guarantee the quality of the results. He then mentioned that one of the projects that has generated the most controversy is the Rufino Ortega Boulevard, a work that is being carried out by the administration. Despite the criticism, the director of Public Works has assured that it will continue and efforts will be made to improve it to provide greater support to the personnel involved. He stated that a professional has been appointed to take charge of the technical direction of the project, which will contribute to its proper execution. Other works that were mentioned are the Plaza Independencia located in B° Martín Güemes, which was in a state of abandonment, and the Parque del Ayer, where the concreting of the internal paths is being carried out. In addition, two gas network works have been put out to tender in the Virgen de los Vientos and Virgen del Carmen neighborhoods, and their prompt inauguration is expected once the necessary verifications are carried out. The director also emphasized the completion of the Parque de Huellas, a work that is 97% complete, and the Monument to the Bible, which “was halfway done.” However, he mentioned that they are training women in laying paving stones to finish the Paseo de los Abuelos.
