In a significant development, Samakhiyali Tollway Private Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd., has received the Appointed Date, December 28, 2023, from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This milestone empowers the SPV to commence Toll Collection and initiate construction activities on the Samakhiyali Santalpur BOT project.
The toll collection on the project began at 00:00 Hrs. on December 28, 2023, marking a crucial phase in the projects implementation. Simultaneously, the SPV has mobilized resources to kickstart construction activities on the project.
Mr. R. S. Sharma, Deputy CEO of the IRB Infra Group, expressed his views on the achievement, stating, "Receiving the Appointed Date allows us to start Toll Collection and Construction Activities on the project. Our focus will now be on the timely completion of the project with the highest quality and safety standards, ensuring a world-class traveling experience for users." He emphasized the strategic importance of the project, linking commercially vital Kandla and Mundhra Ports, contributing to enhanced mobility of heavy commercial vehicles and fostering economic growth.
The Samakhiyali Santalpur BOT project is IRB Infras sixth project in the state of Gujarat, and the fourth one currently operational. The company, after successfully completing and handing over two BOT projects to the nodal agency a year and a half ago, continues to strengthen its presence in the region.
