Work Detail | If you're an owner of the AT&T branded BlackBerry Priv, or the version of the Android powered slider meant for Canadian or Asian Pacific markets, you need to read this story. AT&T has a beta version of an update waiting for you in the BlackBerry Beta Zone. To make sure that the update is the right one, it should be labeled AAG202 - AT&T / AAG191 - Canadian and AsiaPac after you install it on your device. The security patch level reads September 6th, which is when the next Android security patch is set to be unveiled The only thing that we can say for sure about the update is that it will feature the latest security patch. BlackBerry usually tosses in its own bug fixes and changes, but because the only version of the update that is already out is the one in the Beta Zone, no changelist has been released. Once Google officially releases the update, a changelist will appear although it won't include the changes that BlackBerry adds. There is no version of the update in the Beta Zone for the unlocked Priv sold from ShopBlackBerry.com and Amazon. There is also no beta for versions of the Priv branded by T-Mobile and Verizon. Also not receiving one are Priv models sold in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Those models should still receive the update when it rolls out through regular channels starting on September 6th. |
