Work Detail Vancouver set to have the largest Tesla service centre in North America The largest Tesla service centre in North America is set to be constructed in Strathcona district, Vancouver. Today, The electric vehicle manufacturer has partnered with local developer Beedie to build the facility at 950 Raymur Avenue. Further, it is located on a 1.6-acre vacant industrial site at the southeast corner of Prior Street and Raymur Avenue, it is immediately east of Strathcona Park. The size of the new service centre The new state-of-the-art 120,000 sq ft building complex will provide servicing, delivery operations, vehicle preparation, and a showroom. According to the company, this will be the company’s most expansive service centre. It will be the largest service capacity in Western Canada. Further, when complete, the new purpose-built Tesla centre is expected to replace the nearby existing service centre within an industrial building at 901 Great Northern Way. Vancouver Tesla service centre construction timeline Construction is expected to begin in early 2024 to be completed in early 2026. Furthermore, the Tesla facility will intensify industrial and other employment-generating uses in the area, aligning with the City of Vancouver’s False Creek Plan. Tesla also partnered with Bosa Properties to build a new purpose-built delivery and service centre. It will be located at a vacant 7.5-acre site at 1032 Nicola Avenue in Port Coquitlam. Additionally, it will be a 60,000-square-foot facility with a vehicle parking capacity of about 650 stalls. “We are pleased to have partnered with Beedie to build our future flagship British Columbia location in the heart of Vancouver. With this new facility, we look to better serve our Vancouver-area customers. Furthermore, we hope to support electric vehicle adoption in the province,” said Fereshteh Zeineddin. She is Tesla’s director of vehicle sales and service in Canada, in a statement. Statistics of Tesla’s Local Influence At the end of 2022, Tesla accounted for 51 per cent of all EVs on B.C. roads, according to ICBC statistics. This totals around 42,000 of 81,000 EVs registered with the provincial insurer. Of those 42,000. Furthermore, 79 per cent, 32,493, were registered in Metro Vancouver, with 13,788 in just Vancouver, Burnaby and the North Shore.
