Power Panel has developed a portable photovoltaic device to address humanitarian needs and off-grid living.
Power Panel, an American manufacturer of solar products, has developed a portable solar device for emergency response, humanitarian aid, and off-grid living.
It manufactures Gen20 devices in Oxford, Michigan, and is now marketing them around the world. The portable closets are equipped with solar power, water filtration and water heaters.
The devices have been sent to crisis zones such as Ukraine to support frontline response teams and humanitarian efforts.
They have four 540 W N-type heterojunction solar modules with 28 cells per panel. The devices also offer 2.4 kWh of energy storage via two 12V lead-acid batteries.
The thermal photovoltaic panels have a peak thermal generation of 2.5 kW. Optionally, a water desalination tank can be added.
The devices also charge electrical products, with eight Type 2 USB ports and a switch-controlled 20A auxiliary cable.
Power Panel claims that complete units can be installed from box to operations in less than two hours.
It is expected that products, manufactured in the United States, will qualify for the 10% tax credit for local content provided for in the US Inflation Reduction Act. |
