Agthia Group PJSC, a prominent food and beverage company, has taken a significant stride in reducing its carbon footprint by partnering with Yellow Door Energy, a renowned UAE-based solar developer.
The collaboration involves the establishment of solar power plants at the production facilities of Al Ain Water and Al Foah, subsidiaries of Agthia. This initiative is expected to offset nearly 20% of the factories’ annual energy consumption, contributing to sustainability and cost efficiencies.
Over the next 25 years, the project aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 124,000 tonnes, equivalent to recycling 5.4 million single-use plastic bags and planting 2.1 million trees.
The solar PV power plants, with capacities of around 5MWp each, represent Agthia’s commitment to integrating renewable energy into its manufacturing processes.
