The development of the first phase of the ambitious Galathea Bay project, valued at Rs. 44,000 crore, is set to take a significant step forward as Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced plans to issue tenders early next year. In a statement released on Thursday, the minister highlighted the forthcoming milestone in the projects timeline.
The Shipping Ministry provided updates on the projects environmental clearance, confirming its approval in November of the preceding year. Additionally, the project has attained Stage 1 forest clearance, marking a crucial step in navigating regulatory requirements. Furthermore, the ministry disclosed that the in-principle approval for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the International Container Transhipment Port (ICTP) project is currently in the finalization stage.
