In a statement, the Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU), a Danish investor, has reported that the operation for the 45% of the shares it still held in the project has been completed for 5.5 million dollars.
Pampa Elvira Solar is described as supplying solar heat to the Gabriela Mistral copper mine, in the Antofagasta region and operated by the Chilean National Copper Corporation (Codelco).
The plant, which uses solar heat, allowed the mine to reduce fossil fuel consumption by up to 85%, equivalent to 15,000 tons of CO2 annually, it is claimed. |
