Work Detail | Van Oord has been awarded a contract by Danish renewables developer Ørsted for the Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan. The 920 MW project will be located 35-60 km off the coast of Changhua County. The Dutch marine construction firm will be responsible for the transport and installation of three export cables, with a total length of about 175 km. The company will deploy its 2014-built cable-laying vessel Nexus and LNG-powered hopper dredger Vox Apolonia. The works are scheduled to start in 2024 and are expected to be finished in 2025. Van Oord has also confirmed the award for the installation of monopile foundations at Baltic Power offshore wind farm in Poland being developed by a joint venture between ORLEN and Northland Power. The contracts In Taiwan and Poland have a combined value of more than €500m ($533m). |
