Work Detail Durst announces completion of two-tower mixed-use project, Astoria Durst Organisation and its general contractor, Urban Atelier Group, have completed the development of a two-tower, mixed-use complex at 20 and 30 Halletts Point Road in Astoria. The buildings, which will include a total of 647 units, are presently 27 and 32 floors tall, respectively. The facility is one step closer to completion now that the last structural concrete has been placed. The complex’s development is projected to be finished in 2025, according to the Durst Organisation. This project represents the second significant phase of the peninsula’s development. 10 Halletts Point Road, the first phase, was finished in 2019. Astoria will gain 2,000 residential apartments from the three Halletts Point Road towers, which comprise Phases 1 and 2. The Handel Architects-designed property will also include a new public waterfront esplanade and park, as well as local shopping. Durst emphasised the project’s role on bringing investment and activity to that portion of the waterfront, in addition to showcasing the homes, local shopping, and open space. More on the Durst mixed-use project in Astoria The Durst Organisation collaborated with ArtBridge to create a 600-foot mural along the fence throughout the construction phase. The mural, named “A City in Motion,” was made by Astoria-based artist Zaheen Wazed, who was inspired by his work with the Astoria Houses of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA). The Astoria Houses of NYCHA collaborated with the Durst Organisation to build the complex. “Today, we celebrate years of hard work and dedication by topping out this phase of the Halletts Point development,” Durst Organisation President Jody Durst said last week in a statement. “This is a significant milestone for this project.” magnificent tradespeople construct magnificent structures. The construction crew in New York is the best in the world. You always rise to the occasion and complete the task at hand. This is a game changer for the Halletts Point neighbourhood.”
