12MW facility in Castile and León will produce electricity for coatings producer Bekaert
German solar specialist Iqony Solar Energy Solutions (SENS), together with investment partner Menapy, has commissioned a 12MW solar farm for self-consumption by a customer in Spain.
The array is located in region of Castile and León and it will produce power to supply local operations of steel wire and coatings producer Bekaert.
The inauguration ceremony took place in Burgos, where Bekaert’s Spanish facilities are based.
The solar park consists of 18,300 PV panels.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by guests, including the mayor of Burgos, Cristina Ayala Santamaría, as well ministers from the Castilian regional government.
Managing director of SENS Óscar Page said: “We are pleased to see that our solar-as-a-service offering is particularly useful in electricity-intensive industries in Spain, where Bekaert also operates, brings added value.” |
