| Work Detail | The southbound lanes of Balmoral Street, between Hewitson and William streets, will be closed starting on Tuesday for about two to three weeks, says a city engineer. Work includes the filling in of ditches and installation of storm sewers, construction of asphalt multi-use trails on both sides of the road to facilitate cyclists, pavement rehabilitation, and new curbing and gutter, said Mike Vogrig, project engineer with the City of Thunder Bay, in a news release on Friday. Southbound traffic will be detoured along the Harbour Expressway to Golf Links Road, then down William Street. Southbound local traffic will still be able to access Sibley Drive and Hewitson Street, as well as businesses along Barton and Roland streets. A single northbound lane will remain open. Detours will be posted to route motorists around the area of construction. |
