The energy requirements of this tender have been updated, which now contemplates auctioning a total of 5,000 GWh distributed in 2 Supply Blocks of 2,600 GWh and 2,400 GWh each, starting in 2027 and 2028, respectively. The National Energy Commission (CNE) of Chile modified the Bases of the Supply Tender 2023/01, national and international public tender for the supply of power and electrical energy to supply the consumption of clients subject to price regulation, Tender This resolution updates the energy requirements and now contemplates auctioning a total of 5,000 GWh distributed in 2 supply blocks of 2,600 GWh and 2,400 GWh each, starting in 2027 and 2028 respectively, intended to supply the energy needs of the regulated clients of the National Electric System. The preliminary bidding rules contemplated a total of 5,400 GWh. Exempt resolution No. 489, dated October 13, 2023, was also published, which responds to the queries to the Bases of the companies participating in the process and includes several minor adjustments and clarifications in order, explains the CNE, to clarify and perfect the conditions established in said Bases. On the other hand, this latest modification to the Bases has maintained the main innovations incorporated in previous versions, such as the mechanism for promoting storage and non-variable renewable energy projects, the segmentation of the supply blocks into 3 zones that allow the reduction of the nodal risk faced by suppliers, and the mechanism for transferring systemic costs to the indexed price of the contract. Regarding this last element, the possibility of incorporating other systemic costs that may appear in the future has been more explicitly specified, with prior approval from the CNE. The next milestone in this process is the presentation of the proposals by the bidders, to be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Then the program contemplates the opening and inspection of the economic offers, together with the opening of the reserve price, to take place on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 11 a.m., while the first stage award ceremony would take place on Friday.
