This is the first state project, of 17 MWp, which will be executed through Inversiones Energéticas, one of CELs subsidiary companies, and will involve an investment of 20 million dollars.
The company Inversiones Energéticas (INE), in charge of the construction of Talnique Solar, of 17 MW, the first photovoltaic generation plant developed by the Salvadoran state, has announced that it is in the assembly stage of solar panels and inverters.
INE, which is a state company, also states: “We are also advancing civil works for streets, gutters and the control room of the Talnique Solar substation, in addition to the channeling for the underground line that will connect substations. In the next few days the power transformer will be installed.”
The project, which began in November of last year , is located in the municipality of Talnique, department of La Libertad, where a total of 29,600 bifacial solar modules will be deployed. The estimated investment is 20 million dollars.
Inversiones Energéticas (INE) is one of the subsidiary companies of the also state Executive Hydroelectric Commission of the Lempa River (CEL), dedicated – until now – to the generation and sale of electrical energy from hydroelectric plants.
It is stated that solar energy so far contributes between 8% and 10% of the total national supply to El Salvador. |
