Work Detail These are the Malvinas Collector and the Maipú Collector, two works financed with non-refundable funds from ENOHSA. The work was resumed after the end of the winter ban. USHUAIA.- The Provincial Directorate of Sanitary Works and Services (DPOSS) resumed the works “Maipú Collector Reinforcement” and “Malvinas Collector Reinforcement”, both aimed at improving the sewage system of Ushuaia accompanying the growth of the city. They are financed with non-refundable funds from the National Water and Sanitation Works Entity (ENOHSA). In the Malvinas Collector in recent days, a new stage of concreting of the auxiliary pumping station was completed, which will be located near the mouth of the Pipo River and which will receive the contribution of the new collector (which runs along the west bank of the river, from the street From the Estancia to almost the coast of the Beagle Channel) and will drive them towards the “Costa de los Yámanas” station, which in turn will pump the sewage effluents to the “Bahía Golondrina” pretreatment plant. In the Maipú Collector, concreting work began for the subsequent paving of the intervened sector on Av. San Martín for the section called “Parque Centenario Collector”, which will function as reinforcement of the existing pluviocloacal collector on the San Martín route, between Gobernador Paz and Guaraní, and the one located on Guaraní street between San Martín and Maipú. “It is a complex, large-scale work that is being developed in the center of the city and will complement the existing collector that is already insufficient taking into account the growth of Ushuaia,” explained the president of the DPOSS, Cristian Pereyra. The official highlighted that these two works “will become part of the comprehensive system that represents the citys sanitation network.” In addition, he specified that “with the Maipú Collector Reinforcement work, 75,000 residents of the city will benefit; while the Malvinas Collector Reinforcement aims to cover 45,000 users.”
