Beltway: the first stage is 8 kilometers
Mayor Juan Pablo Luque and the general administrator of National Highways, Gustavo Arrieta, signed this Tuesday the minutes of the start of the pavement work that will be carried out on the so-called "Oil Road", which connects the southwest area of ??our city and Route 26 and is part of the Beltway project.
The event took place at noon, at the Public Information Center, with the presence of Vice Mayor Othar Macharashvili; the Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works, Maximiliano López; the national director of the PSA, José Glinski; national senator Carlos Linares; the mayor of Lago Blanco, Micaela Bilbao; the head of the Chubut Delegation of National Highways, Julio Otero; and the provincial deputy Adriana Casanovas.
In this regard, Luque stated that "today is a really important day in the history of Comodoro for different factors, not only for the reopening of Route 3 in record time, but also for the progress in fundamental issues for the city in road matters." .
He added that "today we signed the first section of the Circunvalación Road, which we set as the objective of being one more solution to the complications we have in terms of traffic in the city, which, although we have had them for many years, today they circulate on Route 3 more than 55 thousand cars and 1,800 trucks per day,” he explained.
Along these lines, he maintained that "we believe that the Ring Road will allow us to relieve some of the traffic from the oil fields, but also achieve internal circulation that will improve traffic in the city."
To conclude, the Comodor president recalled that “in 2014, before finishing her term, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner signed the work of the Circunvalación Road and a section of the viaduct. When Mauricio Macri took office as president, this work was not considered transcendental and nothing was done. We have to say things as they are: there were delays and paralysis due to eminently political issues.”
8 KILOMETERS AND 2,000 MILLION PESOS
For his part, the general administrator of National Highways, Gustavo Arrieta, pointed out that “I did not know Comodoro Rivadavia, but I did know the city intensely through a mayor who is intense in the day-to-day management. I had the opportunity, as soon as I took on this position, to meet Juan Pablo, who presented us with a series of important requirements for Comodoro and for the province."
In that sense, the national official expressed that “among the requirements, a very clear one emerged for the community, which is the Circunvalación Road, which has so much to do with production and with the daily reality of Comodoro Rivadavia. This path of around 30 kilometers is an enormous challenge because it involves expropriations, advances, tensions and negotiations.”
"The mayor told us the intention to start with what we can today, which is this first stage of 8 kilometers and a budget of 2 billion pesos, which also represents an important challenge for the company, since it must carry out the work in a year and a half. We are very happy to be accompanying Juan Pablo and the entire Comodoro community in this signing of the contract,” Arrieta concluded. |
