Vandals laid waste to 109 transmission towers over nine months across Nigeria, the governments electricity utility company has confirmed.
Citing a report by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), several local media outlets reported that the vandals targeted and destroyed 132kV double circuit power transmission lines and 330kV double circuit lines.
The incidents spanned over 2022 and 2023.
The vandals had also "engaged in soil excavation that posed a threat to transmission towers."
