Work Detail This is a 1.1 MW facility built in Choloma by Celsia for Cementos Argos. Celsia, an energy company of Grupo Argos, has built and put into operation a 1.1 MW plant for sister company Cementos Argos, located in Choloma, Honduras. In a statement, it is explained that it is an installation made up of 2,160 photovoltaic modules of 545 Wp each, with the capacity to generate close to 1.6 million kWh/year, which implies that the cement company can replace up to 25% of its demand for electricity consumption in cement grinding in Río Blanquito, Choloma. The investment in the project has been estimated at 1.2 million dollars, “part of the investment plan of more than 23 million dollars announced by Argos in 2021, to be allocated to various projects that aim to improve its production capacity, its efficiency and, in general, to have more environmentally friendly processes,” he says. This is the second project that both companies develop jointly. In 2020, an installation of more than 32 thousand solar panels, with a power of 10.6 MW, was inaugurated at the Piedras Azules cement plant in Comayagua, which allows the cement company to replace up to 22% of its electrical consumption. . Cementos Argos and Celsia are companies of Grupo Argos, an infrastructure holding company on the American continent, with businesses in cement, road and airport concessions, and conventional and renewable energy.
