Work Detail Inverter firm Sungrow has joined hands with Investment Fund WEG-4. Under the agreement, Sungrow will supply 60MW/132MWh of its liquid cooled energy storage system (ESS) solution, the PowerTitan to Chile. The project is established within Maria Elena Solar Park of 72.8 MW capacity in Antofagasta, Chile, which was commissioned in 2015. Following the operation of the solar park, the idea of integrating energy storage has been introduced. WEG-4 is a public fund managed by WEGAGF, an asset manager in Chile. The ESS will improve access to renewable energy, promising greater efficiency and augmenting the stability of the grid. The liquid cooled ESS PowerTitan from Sungrowwill be installed in the project. WEG-4s commitment to continue investing in assets that contribute to a better environment is evident in the Maria Elena Energy Storage project. We selected Sung row as our dedicated ESS provider due to their proven track record in the energy storage market, and the competitive features of their products and services, securing the best performance of our assets in the long term, stated Eduardo Escaffi, Partner from WEG-4, the owner of Maria Elena Solar Park.
