Hoymiles has developed new hybrid inverters for residential solar and storage applications. They support 120V/240V backup power without the need for an external transformer.
Hoymiles has introduced the HYS-LV-USG1 series of single-phase hybrid inverters. They are designed for residential and small commercial solar plus storage projects.
Inverter sizes range from 3.8 kW to 11.5 kW power output. Hybrid inverters allow bidirectional conversion of electricity from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC), as well as from DC to AC.
Hybrid inverters have a maximum efficiency of 97.6% and a CEC efficiency of 97%. Dual maximum power point trackers (MPPT) support up to 32 A of MPPT current. The inverters support 120V/240V backup power without the need to install an external autotransformer.
The new Hoymiles inverters allow a DC/AC ratio of up to 150%. According to the company, this means a lower system cost compared to systems of the same capacity used by other conventional inverters.
The inverters have built-in arc fault protection and quick disconnect functions. The inverters also allow users to check system data in real time and perform remote operations and maintenance using a transfer key.
An integrated energy management system allows users to switch between self-consumption mode, “economy mode” and standby power mode to suit their needs.
“By acting as a medium between solar and grid energy, we ensure that electricity is not only affordable, but also adaptable and reliable,” says Neutron Wang, Product Manager at Hoymiles. “With our latest inverters, we are expanding the frontiers of solar technology, promoting energy autonomy.”
