The Peruvian company Orange Energy has announced a project that it has developed for the dairy firm Gloria, comprising 30 solar kits of 5 kW each that serve as many milk cooling tanks.
In response to a query from pv magazine , the company - which in addition to Peru also has an area of ??action in Ecuador and Chile - specifies that the facilities are located in Majes, department of Arequipa, for a total power of 96.3 kWp.
The technology used consists of 180 JA Solar solar panels of 535 Wp plus 30 off-grid inverters of 5 kW, to which must be added a bank of 800 Ah/48 V gel-type technology batteries and electrical panels with IP65 protection.
The installation of each kit included the assembly of photovoltaic panels on recycled structures of the racks that were in the Gloria warehouses and their connection, assembly of the power inverter and gel batteries, the configuration of electrical parameters according to Peruvian standards, installation start-up and functional tests in milk cooling tanks.
The results to be obtained by the dairy company, it is assured, is a better quality milk by improving the conservation of nutritional properties. Added to this is the fact that the farmer can obtain a more competitive price for the product along with savings in electricity, in addition to being able to keep the milk for as long as possible.
Orange Energy highlights the importance of training Glorias technical staff for the operation and maintenance of the plants, the promotion of environmental commitment with the implementation of non-conventional renewable sources and the demonstration of the reduction of electrical energy costs in the industrial sector. |
