Aarvee Associates and Systra have been selected to prepare the Preliminary Project Reports (PPRs) and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the Phase-III Metro Rail expansion corridors in Hyderabad.
The project encompasses 12 corridors, covering 278 km, with four corridors running along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and eight extension corridors.
The Hyderabad Airport Metro (HAML) had initiated the tendering process for these corridors in August, 2023. Aarvee Associates has been awarded Package-II and III, while Packages-I & IV were awarded to Systra. The consultancy firms have to submit PPRs within two months. They are expected to carry out comprehensive traffic surveys, travel demand forecasting, ridership estimates, and various analysis, to aid in recommending suitable modes of public transport.
Subsequently, they will prepare the DPRs within three months. These will encompass details such as Metro rail alignment, viaducts, station and depot planning, signalling and train communication systems, last-mile connectivity strategies, and other aspects.
The selected agencies have been instructed to commence field surveys concurrently across all the the designated corridors. |
