Work Detail Gardline, part of Boskalis, has secured a contract from Hartshead Resources and its joint venture partner Rockrose Energy to carry out a geophysical pipeline route survey across Anning and Somerville gas fields in the UK Southern North Sea. The 1987-built and 2007-reconfigured multi-role survey vessel Ocean Observer has been earmarked for the job, expected to start in September this year. Hartshead said the main objectives of the survey are to provide the company with confirmation of the seabed and sub-seabed soil conditions to finalise the design and the efficient installation of the export pipeline route from the Anning and Somerville locations. Anning and Somerville are both located in Licence P2607 on the UK Continental Shelf, which also contains the Hodgkin and Lovelace gas fields. The permit is estimated to hold 2P reserves of 301.5 bcf of gas. “The pipeline route survey is a critical step in our commitment to developing sustainable energy infrastructure while prioritising safety and environmental preservation. We are dedicated to working closely with local communities and stakeholders to ensure that our pipeline project meets the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility,” noted Chris Lewis, chief executive of Hartshead.
