Florida Department of Transportation commissioned Lane for the project that includes realigning the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from southbound Apopka-Vineland Road.
Lane has won a contract for the design and upgrading of the interchange at the Interstate 4 and Apopka–Vineland Road in Orange County, Florida.
Serving more than 150,000 vehicles/day, the interchange where the I-4 meets Apopka-Vineland Road – State Road 535 - is a major access point to Walt Disney World, hotels, shopping outlets and resorts in the area.
Florida Department of Transportation commissioned Lane for the US$104 million project. It includes realigning the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from southbound Apopka-Vineland Road, building a new loop ramp from the road northbound to westbound I-4, lengthening the westbound I-4 exit ramp to Apopka-Vineland Road and road resurfacing, along with other auxiliary works.
Lane, the US subsidiary of the Italian Webuild Group, will use recycled asphalt pavement, concrete and steel in the latest example of the Webuild’s commitment to make the construction process as sustainable as possible.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024 once the design phase has been completed.
Lane has a significant presence in Florida. In April, it and a joint-venture partner became the preferred team in exclusivity for a project to modernise the Westshore Interchange (I-275/S.R. 60) in Tampa.
Also in Tampa, Lane is widening a section of the I-275 and in the greater Orlando area, it is completing the Poinciana Parkway. |
