Work Detail The newly renovated ITPO Pragati Maidan Complex in India was officially inaugurated by PM Modi. A press release statement noted that the building will host India’s G20 leaders’ meetings. Moreover, it will also serve as the country’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference, and Exhibition) venue. Upon inauguration, the ITPO complex got renamed, Bharat Mandapam. Additionally, it is also known as the Integrated Exhibition Convention Centre (IECC). On January 2017, the complex development’s project proposal received approval from the Government of India, at a cost of Rs. 2,254 crore. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated that it formed part of a national project, with a total cost of Rs 2,700 crore. Official reports further note that its impressive seating capacity surpasses that of the Sydney Opera House in Australia, of which is 5,500 people. Renovated ITPO Pragati Maidan Complex’s Seating Capacity In total, the development’s campus area spans 123 acres. Quite impressively, its convention center boasts a 7,000 people seating capacity. This, in turn, makes the venue ideal for international summits. In addition to cultural extravaganzas as well as major conferences on a global scale. The main convention center is sectioned into four levels with 25 meeting rooms, alongside two halls and two auditoriums. Taking it a step further, the development features an amphitheater with an impressive 3,000 seating capacity. Official sources revealed that the development’s design incorporates research from top countries that had such facilities. These included the US, South Korea, China, and Germany. As a whole, the IECC strives to increase its share of the global tourism market. Before the newly renovated convention center, Vigyan Bhawan was similarly, the only major center in Delhi, then built in the 1950s. Currently, it is said that the center is not able to meet India’s target goals, especially towards becoming amongst the world’s top largest economies.
