After four processes without adjudication, the government will open the envelopes this Wednesday to find out if there are interested companies and with what offers.
As part of the repeated complexity to advance in the bidding process in the construction sector, the municipal government launched a fifth call for bids that aims to carry out the completion works of the Camet neighborhood sports center. After four previous failed attempts, this Wednesday the envelopes will be opened to find out if there are interested companies and with what offers.
The new bidding process was launched days ago and this Wednesday it will have its instance of opening envelopes in which it will be known if bidders are presented and with what budgets. This fifth call repeats the official work amount of the previous one of $332 million.
In the previous process, whose envelope was opened on May 31, a company, Ciageser, had presented itself with a budget that significantly exceeded the official one: $520 million.
The Camet sports center, located at Gandhi and Las Lambercianas, is the only one of the five tendered in 2013 that remains pending completion. And since last year the tenders to complete the works have failed in a critical macroeconomic context.
The first two openings of envelopes were carried out on August 3 and 31 of last year and there were no offers from construction companies to take over the completion of the works. In both cases the official budget stipulated had been $122,724,590.
This year the municipal government launched a new bidding process that had its opening of envelopes in January, with an official budget of $220,219,250. However, once again, no company was interested. The fourth did have an interested company but with a budgeted value well above the official one, which was $332,009,496.97.
This new budget is the one contemplated for this fifth call in which this Wednesday it will be known whether or not there are interested companies and what their proposals are.
The work projected by the Ministry of Works and Urban Planning -with a development period of 300 days- consists of the enhancement and completion of all the necessary works for the commissioning of the swimming pool, sports and cultural center.
Thus, the completion of the swimming pool is projected, which has a covered area of ??690 m² with a semi-Olympic pool of 12.5 by 25 meters and the other space for a competition gym with measurements for soccer, handball, basketball, or two volleyball courts for simultaneous activity. On the outside, for its part, it plans to make a perimeter path and access ramps and the landscape of the other surrounding sectors.
Among the works to be carried out, the dismantling of all deteriorated elements (ceilings, wooden floors and showers) is planned first. Then, among other tasks, all the necessary repairs will be made to prevent leaks and the new wooden floor with its demarcations will be installed in the sports sector. |
