The laying of pipes has already advanced more than 300 meters in length.
The provincial government reported on Monday that it is advancing in the construction of the storm drain laying on Nini Flores avenue, in the Santa Catalina neighborhood of the city of Corrientes.
The tasks range from the access to the Police Cadet School to its intersection with Maipú avenue, where nearly 500 1.5-meter-diameter pipes have already been placed out of the 6,500 reinforced concrete pipes that will make up this almost two-kilometer-long pipeline.
According to the Government, the work is of vital importance for the subsequent paving of that avenue that will link the Santa Catalina complex with the rest of the southern area of ??the city, also relieving traffic on Maipú Avenue,
At present, around 500 reinforced concrete pipes that started with a diameter of 1.50 meters have been placed in the eastern head of the work near the Maipú avenue roundabout. The laying has already advanced more than 300 meters in length.
The drainage mega-work that is being carried out on an avenue to be paved
Simultaneously, two large connection chambers are being built that will connect the pipeline with the section that will drain into the Pirayuí stream.
The pipeline will cover the 1,940-meter length of Nini Flores Avenue, bordering the Procrear and Invico de Santa Catalina housing complexes to the north, and consists of laying two rows of reinforced concrete rainwater pipes whose measurements will range between 1.50 meters and 0.60 meters in diameter. The excavation of this line will require an earth movement close to 36 thousand square meters.
This drainage will imply the placement of more than 6,500 pipes and the execution of at least 33 connection chambers and more than 65 drains (Storm mouths). All the rainwater collected will drain into the Pirayuí stream.

Taking into account the important present and future urban development of Santa Catalina, where there are currently 678 Procrear Homes in that sector and 400 more homes have already been delivered by the Province, to which will be added the 160 homes that INVICO continues to build and another 300 new private homes, it is necessary to generate alternative circulation routes and a north-south link with the rest of the city.
Faced with this situation, the Province is generating a new set of arteries that link the city in a transversal sense and within this plan, Nini Flores avenue is of vital importance, which together with the refunctionalization of Igarzabal, Santa Catalina, Alta Gracia avenues and its link with Paysandú, will generate the conditions for a better, fluid and safe transit in that part of Corrientes. |
