Work Detail The artificial island was built on a foundation of five artificial hills and is surrounded by a 360-degree beachfront MASK Architects’ Eagle Mansion Signature Villa has earned its place among the top three finalists in Emaar Misr’s prestigious “Signature Mansion” international invited competition. The competition sought innovative designs for the newly developed project “Soul Luxury Beach Resort” situated on Egypt’s Northern Coast. Notably, this exceptional villa was specially created for Mohamed Alabbar, a prominent Emirati businessman renowned as the founder of Emaar Properties, responsible for iconic developments like the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall, and also serving as the chairman of Eagle Hills, an Abu Dhabi-based private investment and real estate development company. The remarkable Eagle Mansion Signature Villa boasts three distinctive levels, each serving different purposes: a public mansion, a semi-private mansion, and a primary private mansion. What sets the Eagle Mansion Signature Villa apart is its extraordinary concept—it will be exclusively constructed on an artificial island. MASK Architects drew inspiration from the lifestyle of their esteemed client, incorporating elements that encompass family, health, fitness, entertainment for guests, business facilities, and social leisure activities, all within the design of the villa to create an exceptional all-in-one living experience. The artificial island’s foundation comprises five ingeniously crafted artificial hills, encircled by a stunning 360-degree beachfront that features scenic walking and running paths and versatile outdoor spaces for various activities, events, and parties. The villa’s outdoor area is even envisioned to host exhibitions open to the public. Additionally, the villa will encompass a basement catering to back and front-of-house staff, along with facilities for laundry, storage, technical rooms, equipment housing, and underground parking. Design and features The Signature Villa is divided into three levels. The Owner has a public mansion, a semi-private mansion, and a main private mansion. The entire Villa will be raised above the artificial island to provide more privacy and security from the public grounds. The Signature Villa’s three levels will serve as living and working spaces for the client, their family, friends, guests, and business associates. The three levels divide the Villa into different zones. The first floor, known as the Public Mansion, will house the clients’ friends, guests, and business associates. Multiple guest rooms and large living areas will be located on this floor. The open living room will include a kitchen, dining area, and lounge area. There are also offices, a library, meeting rooms, and studios on this floor. Health and fitness facilities such as a gym, sauna, and Turkish bath have also been considered by the architects. Massage rooms, hydro-massage showers, yoga and meditation areas are all available. There will also be space for the client’s art and collectables to be displayed. MASK wishes to make clients’ guests feel welcome and comfortable, including access to facilities and social spaces. The basement/underground car park will have a vertical access point to the First Floor. The client’s family will live on the second floor, in the Semi-Private Mansion. It will once again provide living space for family members with greater privacy and luxury, as well as direct access to the roof pools and infinity pools. The second floor is distinguished by its proximity to the Signature Villas Pools. This floor is divided into two main pool areas, each with a 2000 square meter infinity pool. The pools will be one of the Signature Villa’s main advantages, evoking luxury and leisure. The pools will also include bathing decks and mini islands where users can enjoy private and secluded time. The heated cantilevered Glass & Steel Pool at the end with views will be open all year. MASK also designed this floor to be open and almost seamless between inside and outside. They wanted to use the infinity pools and the endless view of the ocean to create harmony and endless views. The outdoor living room and terrace will house an outdoor cinema as well as a social circle space for family members to interact. This floor will have more outdoor terraces because the client and the client’s family and close guests will have access to the pool and sunbathing areas. To provide more privacy, the client can designate one poolside for family and another for close friends. The Second floor is accessible from the ground floor and has underground parking, a kitchen, and a staff area. As the second floor, it is completely safe and private due to the height from the main floor. With perfect views all around, the second floor is more of a social space for both the users of the second and third floors. The third floor, which will be reserved exclusively for the client/owner, will be the most secure and private. This floor will only be accessible via the second floor. Due to the importance of security in our Signature Villa, there will be no direct access from any other floors to the third floor. The client comes first, and MASK strives to keep the third floor as private and secure as possible. The owner’s floor will be completely private and luxurious, with its own living area and terrace, living room, dressing space, private terrace, and infinity bathtubs. The Signature Villa will also host a helicopter landing pad on its roof for easy access for the client. The third floor will have beautiful 360-degree views of the surrounding area with endless views of the ocean. Lead Designers and Architects Oznur Pinar CER and Danilo PETTA, founders of MASK Architects, say: ‘Eagle Mansion Signature Villa is unique, and the main concept of this villa is that it will be designed to be constructed entirely on an artificial island. The source of inspiration for the Signature Villa was our client’s lifestyle. Surrounded by a 360-degree beachfront around the island, with walking and running paths and additional multi-purpose outdoor spaces, event, and party areas.” She added: “The main concept of the Eagle Mansion Signature Villa is to have it floating on artificial hills, to almost create a sense of a floating villa. We aimed to design and create a sleek and flush, fresh-looking, aesthetically designed Villa—a sense of luxury combined with practicality with the client’s lifestyle. “Eagle Mansion Signature Villa, built on an artificial island that represents the region’s building concept, consists of a ground floor, first floor (public mansion), second floor (semi-private estate) with a 2,000 square metres infinity pool and third floor (full-private owner mansion), towering above and creating a sense of privacy, exclusiveness and security for the client. With surrounding beaches, social and event areas, and office and communal work areas, our Eagle Mansion Signature Villa is an all-in-one concept to bring everything together.” Palm trees on the artificial island contribute to the illusion of being on a real island. The island has 360-degree beach fronts, swimming pools, and views that are ideal for relaxation and enjoyment. A direct road is also connected to the artificial island, serving as a key road access point to the island. There will also be yacht docking areas and a helicopter pad for additional island access. The Signature Villa’s main concept is to have it floating on artificial hills, almost creating the illusion of a floating villa. MASK aimed to design and build a sleek, flush, fresh-looking, aesthetically pleasing Villa. A sense of luxury combined with functionality in accordance with the client’s lifestyle. This Signature Villa, built on an artificial island representing the region’s building concept, consists of a ground floor, first floor, second floor, and third floor, towering above and providing the client with a sense of privacy and security.
