The agreement was signed by the rector Ricardo Gelpi and the Minister of Education of the Nation, Jaime Perczyk. Also present were the Vice Chancellor Emiliano Yacobitti, the Sec. of University Policies Lic. Oscar Alpa, the Rector of the School, Ana Barral, the Sec. of Secondary Schools-UBA Dr. Oscar García and the General Sec.-UBA Dr. Juan Alfonsin. Act of signing the Agreement for the new annex building and putting in historical value of the School. EXPAND THE SCHOOL Expanding a school building has a meaning that goes beyond the material, it is expanding rights, it is expanding dreams, it is expanding the educational possibilities of the future of the new generations. It is to fulfill a desire that this educational community (teachers, non-teachers, students, families, graduates) has had for years. The building was too small for us and we must confess that it is our fault, it is because we gradually converted this three-shift school into a three-shift double-day school, which also opens every Saturday for newcomers and for cultural workshops that we offer in quantity and quality. Contract shift work went from being an eventuality to a consolidated modality. 2,400 students pass through the school daily, and this means that the building has an extremely intensive use and that the pedagogical proposals focused on curricular updating and the incorporation of specific in-depth workshops have filled the existing building possibilities. Some of the curricular activities are now hosted in solidarity at the Faculty of Economic Sciences - FCE-UBA. It is to all these inconveniences that the Rectorate of the UBA and the Minister of Education come to put an end to. This act contains in itself a great symbolic value: prioritizing education even in difficult times for our country and the world. Education is a guarantee of the future, of peace, of democracy, of freedom, and precisely for this reason it exalts and keeps in its memory those who strengthen it with their decisions. Thank you very much for continuing to trust our school, for continuing to work and fight for a public, secular, free, scientific education. For a quality education.
