Major development will drive Oman’s quest to be a MICE and business tourism hub
Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) is looking for a multidisciplinary consultant for its proposed mixed-use urban development, Madinat Al Irfan East.
The consultant will create a concept masterplan of the overall site and deliver a benchmark set of architectural design guidelines.
Spread over a 175,000 sqm area, Madinat Al Irfan East will host a range of modern, mixed-use developments, which together will help position Oman as a leading MICE and business tourism hub.
Central to these efforts is the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), which is very much the apex offer of the development and will comprise a hub effectively connecting the range of businesses, hospitality assets, and allied multi-service components.
Madinat Al Irfan East will also include the Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC Hotel, (the first JW Marriot Hotel in Muscat), and an extensive Business Park set to offer a diverse range of commercial land plots. The Business Park will also provide the site for the Omantel headquarters building, already celebrated for its award-winning design. |
