The State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) of Odisha government approved 11 industrial projects worth Rs 3,266 crore on 10 July, 2023.
The approved projects will be set up across Balasore, Bolangir, Kalhandi, Khurda and Jajpur districts, and have the potential to generate employment opportunities for over 9,000 people. These include Himadri Speciality Chemical which will set up its first chemical manufacturing unit in the state with an investment of over Rs 980 crore, while Nestle will set up a food processing unit at a cost of over Rs 890 crore.
Further, Colortone Garments, a subsidiary of First Step Baby-Wear, has proposed to set up an integrated apparel manufacturing facility, along with 1.2 MW rooftop captive solar power plant with over Rs 200-crore investment.
Likewise, IDVB Recycling Operations has got the approval for a new unit of recycled pet flakes and recycled per resin products with a Rs 318 crore outlay. Purv Packaging is setting up a new manufacturing unit for plastic caps, pet preforms and other allied products, with an investment of Rs 152 crore, while RDB Rasayans is setting up a new manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 59 crore.
Other notable projects include IFGL Refractories is setting up its second unit in the state, while Beekay Utkal Steel has proposed to set up its third unit, with an outlay of over Rs 260 crore. In the IT & ESDM sector, the committee also approved a proposal by Nisum Consulting with an investment of Rs 200 crore. |
