United Technologies’ (NYSE:UTX) subsidiary UTC Aerospace Systems said Tuesday it will deliver an imaging system to Tulare County Sheriff’s Office in California for use in its air support aircraft. Shares of the parent drifted slightly lower. The company said in a statement its Cloud Cap Technology TASE400 Long Range Spotter was chosen because of its high performance and low size, weight and power architecture. The sheriff’s office plans to use the system’s infrared imaging sensor and color cameras in the department’s airplane, which will aid Tulare County deputies during periods of limited visibility, darkness and low ambient light conditions. Weighing less than nine pounds, the system can be easily mounted to fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles and tethered balloons, it added. The stock decreased 0.57% or $0.62 during the last trading session, hitting $107.35. About 2.39 million shares traded hands.
