Training and consulting organisation Maersk Training, a part of A.P. Moller – Maersk, has secured a long-term deal for training services with Sapura Drilling, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sapura Energy Berhad.
According to Maersk Training, this Training Management Services (TMS) global partnership with Sapura Drilling, will enable it to be the tender-assisted drilling (TAD) rig owner’s “strategic and primary” training provider. This training partnership is expected to focus on providing competence and compliance training via face-to-face, digital, and onboard training delivery, all enabled by the firm’s TMS team.
Dale Hart, Head of HR at Sapura Drilling, remarked: “Training and development is an important aspect of our operations to create and maintain a high-performing workforce. It is critical to ensure our team can continue to deliver on our promises to clients and live up to our core values. I believe our partnership with Maersk Training will help us to achieve these objectives.”
Sapura Drilling has 11 TADs in its fleet along with nearly 50 years of drilling experience in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.
Tom Milburn, Maersk Training’s Global Head of Commercial for Simulation, commented: “We are delighted that we have secured this contract with Sapura and aim to repay their show of faith in Maersk Training by delivering a high level of service that will support Sapura in driving their safety and operational performance, whilst simultaneously reducing their total cost of training.”
With over 45 years of experience and more than 500 personnel, Maersk Training works with organisations across the oil and gas, maritime, and renewables industries to enhance safety culture and drive operational performance.
Sara Verghese, Maersk Training’s newly appointed Global Head of Onboard Training, underlined: “We have been working with Sapura Drilling for several years now delivering onboard training, and we are thrilled that this collaboration is now formalised in a way that supports our customer and consolidates the booking process.” |
