CPX, a unit of Esdec Solar based in the Netherlands, has developed a new mounting system with a long side clamping system for large modules.
CPX, a spin-off of Esdec Solar, a specialist in rooftop photovoltaic mounting, has introduced new mounting systems for large commercial and industrial rooftop projects in the European market.
According to CPX, rooftop installations of up to 30,000 panels or more need project-focused mounting system providers.
“The projects business is very different from distribution and residential roofing,” says Harm Haarlink, CEO of CPX. “It has a different workflow, requires logistics, coordination expertise, and a project-ready service organization.”
The manufacturer claims that its new Wave mounting system requires fewer assembly steps. In addition, it incorporates a fix and lock mechanism that eliminates the need for installers to use external tools.
“The long-side fixing system is suitable for the large modules now coming onto the market, with variations optimized for both east-west and south-facing locations,” a company spokesperson told pv magazine .
The system admits panels of 40 mx 40 m, that is, 1,600 m2. It also supports module widths of up to 1,150 mm and roof pitches of 2,300 mm to 2,460 mm. It is compatible with a wide range of roofing materials and membranes, including concrete, bitumen, ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO).
CPX offers a 20-year warranty on the new product.
Esdec Solar Group has 400 employees worldwide, annual revenues of $700 million, and installed capacity of 7.5 GW on residential and commercial rooftops. It has several brands of mounting systems in the United States and Europe. |
