Spanish solar tracker maker PV Hardware (PVH) unveiled a contract to supply all the trackers needed for the 2.97-GWp solar plant that will be built as part of the Neom green hydrogen project in northwestern Saudi Arabia.
The order was placed by Indian conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (NSE:LT), or L&T, which has been hired to build renewable power-generating assets for the Neom site, along with storage and grid infrastructure solutions, among others.
PVH said in a statement on Monday that it will provide the trackers from its recently renovated 8-GWp manufacturing facility in Jeddah.
The Neom green hydrogen project, located in Oxagon, in Saudi Arabia’s region of Neom, reached a financial close in May.
The USD-8.4-billion (EUR 7.67bn) hydrogen-to-ammonia site is being built by an equally owned joint venture of Saudi Arabias ACWA Power Co, Air Products and Neom.
Apart from the solar plant, L&T will also construct a 1.65-GW wind generation balance plant and a 400-MWh battery energy storage system at the Neom complex. Earlier this month, the company awarded GE Grid Solutions a contract to supply 380 kV T155 gas-insulated substations for the hydrogen plant. Chinas Envision Energy, in turn, was hired to deliver wind turbines.
