Work Detail EPCIC contracts are for 435MW, 225MW structures in the German North Sea RWE has chosen Atlantique Offshore Energy as preferred supplier to execute engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of the electrical offshore substations required for two Nordseecluster A offshore wind farms in the German North Sea. Installation at sea is expected in 2026. This contract includes two substations, one of 435MW and one of 225MW, with their respective foundations. These two substations will collect, transform and inject into the grid via the HVDC converter DolWin 6, the electricity generated by the offshore wind turbines. Sven Schulemann, RWE’s managing director of the Nordseecluster, said: "With this agreement we have passed the next milestone on the way to completing the first two offshore wind farms of our Nordseecluster. "When they become operational in 2027, we will be making a further contribution towards supporting the decarbonisation drive in our home market. "After the successful delivery of the Arkona offshore substation in 2018, we are looking forward to working with Atlantique Offshore Energy again." Director of Atlantique Offshore Energy Frederic Grizaud added: "This signature is excellent news for our teams at AOE and our entire business network working with us to build the substations, with visibility until 2026. "We are very happy and proud to welcome back a customer like RWE, a worldwide leader of our industry, and to contribute to the very dynamic development of the German offshore wind market."
