The acquisition of land for the second phase of the Noida international airport project is likely to begin in July, 2023.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also issued a notification to set up townships in Falaida Cut and Modal Pur to rehabilitate the villagers as part of the land acquisition process. The two townships would come up on 230 hectares. After addressing any issues raised, the government will provide the compensation and take possession of the land, which is likely to materialise in the next two months.
For the first phase of the airport, the government had acquired 1,334 hectares and handed over to Zurich AG, the concessionaire for the construction work. The second phase will come up on 1,365 hectares, of which 1,180 hectares will be acquired. The remaining 183 hectares is already with the government. |
