Work Detail An 802-bedroom student housing project dubbed The Standard at Philadelphia recently topped out at the University city neighborhood in Philadelphia. The developer, Landmark Properties, expects to complete the project by the fall semester and get it online in late summer. The location of The Standard at Philadelphia is in close proximity to Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania. It’s at 119 S 31st St., which is within walking distance of the William H. Gray III 30th Street Station. Therefore, the property offers residents access to SEPTA, Amtrak and NJ Transit rail options. In addition, the surrounding area also has several retail and restaurant options. Landmark contracted Gilbane Building Co. to provide construction management at-risk services for The Standard at Philadelphia project. Meanwhile, Pride Enterprises will work under Gilbane to manage the interior fit-out and finish trades for the project. Design plans for The Standard at Philadelphia The Standard at Philadelphia will feature a mix of studio, one, two, three, four, five and six bedroom floor plans. It will be an 18-story building with 280 units, ranging from 362 to 1,810 square feet. Each of the units will be furnished with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood-style laminate floors and large closets. Additionally, Standard at Philadelphia residents will enjoy shared amenities such as a fitness center, sports simulator, pool and hot tub deck. Other facilities available on the property include a sauna, study lounge, clubhouse, grill station, gaming lounge and computer labs. Over 3,000 square feet of retail space will also be available on the ground floor with frontage on Upper 30th Street. Gilbane’s Senior V.P, Shawn Carlin said his company appreciates the hard work of their trade partners to achieve this milestone. Especially since The Standard at Philadelphia has been one of their most logistically challenging projects. Carlin also said their company was excited to bring this remarkable student housing facility to the University community in Philadelphia.
