Procurement News Notice

PNN 40545
Work Detail Doosan Enerbility has announced that it had signed an US$877 million contract with Turkistan LLP, a subsidiary of Samruk-Kazyna sovereign wealth fund to build a 1,000 MW combined cycle power plant in Shymkent, southern Kazakhstan. Doosan Enerbility formed a consortium with local construction company Bazis to build the project. The consortium will be responsible for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the plant, which encompasses the entire construction process from design to material supply, installation and commissioning. The gas turbine generator in the combined cycle power plant primarily uses the combustion heat from the fuel. The exhaust gas from the gas turbine generator is sent to a waste heat boiler to raise the steam pressure needed to operate a steam turbine generator. It offers the benefit of generating power more efficiently than coal-fired power plants. It is scheduled to be completed in August 2026.
